Season 3 - Arena Announcements

Season 3 of the Arena will feature 96 new characters, including characters from a new universe: The Witcher.

The Witcher Universe Enters the Arena in Season 3

The Witcher universe is officially joining the Arena! This brings our total to ten represented universes, and yes—this wasn't part of the original plan. Consider it a mid-year surprise. We’ve already shortlisted top contenders for Season 4, but we want to hear from you: Which universes or characters are you dying to see next? Drop your suggestions—we’re listening.

Relative Ranking System (Reminder)

We’re aiming to transition to the Relative Ranking System, but we need your help.
Please vote! The current sample size is too low for us to make the switch. This system evaluates characters across 15 attributes (not just 5), giving us a far more nuanced picture—and crucially, it’s community-driven, so the results reflect your insight.

We'll still use the five-attribute system as the Arena baseline for now, but the goal is full conversion once the data supports it. All new characters, except for The Witcher characters, are already included in the relative ranking system, and these characters will be added soon.

New Characters: Season 3 Roster Expansion

Let’s talk numbers. In Season 3, every universe will field exactly 30 characters, leveling the playing field. This gives each world an equal shot at the title—at least for now. Long term, we recognize that some universes have far more recognizable names than others, so expect uneven rosters in future seasons.

But for now: ten universes. Three hundred champions. Here's who’s arriving:

The Witcher (NEW Universe) — 30 Combatants

Monsters beware. From mutant swordsmen to time-twisting sorceresses, the Witcher roster is packed with firepower, tragedy, and legend.

Highlights:
Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri, Triss, Dandelion, Emhyr, Vesemir, Regis, Milva, Cahir, Vilgefortz, Eredin, Philippa, Villentretenmerth, Calanthe, Avallac’h, Leo Bonhart, Angoulême, Mistle, Zoltan—and more more.

Diablo — 30 Combatants (+20)

The High Heavens and Burning Hells send more champions into the fight. Expect demons, angelic paragons, and doomed mortals twisted by fate.

New Faces:
Uldyssian, Trag'Oul, Anu, Tathamet, Tal Rasha, Isendra, Azmodan, Duriel, Belial, Lucion, Inarius, Auriel, Itherael, The Butcher, Griswold, Marius, Kion, Akeba, Cassia, Rathma.

Forgotten Realms (D&D) — 30 Combatants (+18)

Gods, liches, tiefling warlocks, and undead dragons. This batch pulls deep from the Baldur’s Gate, Planescape, and Spelljammer multiverse.

Notables:
Sarevok, Irenicus, Raphael, Tiamat, Vecna, Demogorgon, Asmodeus, Strahd, Kyuss, Dragotha, Amelyssan, The Absolute, Ketheric Thorm, Cadderly, Entreri, and others.

A Song of Ice and Fire — 30 Combatants (+5)

New Entries:

The Elder Scrolls — 30 Combatants (+2)

From myth-made brass titans to betrayed Hortators, the Elder Scrolls faction gets even more metaphysical.

Indoril Nerevar, The Numidium.

The Lord of the Rings — 30 Combatants (+6)

Heroes of the First Age, monstrous spirits, and Dwarven kings rise to represent Arda’s deep timeline.

New Entries:
Fingolfin, Ungoliant, Glaurung, Fëanor, Bilbo, Thorin Oakenshield.

The Wheel of Time — 30 Combatants (+5)

New champions drawn from the Tower, the Waste, and even Tel’aran’rhiod.

New Faces:

World of Warcraft — 30 Combatants (+3)

No more Classic raid bosses—now we’re bringing the cosmic threats. Power levels are scaling way up.

Additions:
Y'Shaarj, Kil’jaeden, Sargeras.

Malazan Book of the Fallen — 30 Combatants (No New Entries)

Malazan fans, we haven’t forgotten you—we're just... catching our breath. No new characters this season, but more will come in Season 4.

Season 3 Conferences

Each universe will now have two conferences, creating a deeper field and more structured competition.
  • Conference regular season and tournament champions earn automatic bids
  • At-large bids will fill out the remaining spots, totaling between 44 and 54
With 300 total characters (107 returning, minus 3 spared by Aragorn’s wish, and 96 new this season), here’s the universe-by-universe breakdown:
