The realm of fantasy is vast and varied, populated by a myriad of races each with their own unique cultures, histories, and roles within their respective universes. Fantasy literature, games, and films have introduced us to an incredible diversity of beings. The current scope of this project includes the races described in: A Song of Ice and Fire, Diablo, Malazan Book of the Fallen, The Black Company, The Elder Scrolls, The Forgotten Realms, The Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time, and World of Warcraft.
This resource is designed to be an expanding compendium of the many different races found across several beloved fantasy universes. Here, you'll find background information, notable characteristics, and the peculiarities that make each race distinct. We have attempted to organize these races across many universes appropriately by major category, which will eventually link to a landing page for that category, but clicking to expand on these categories will show the distinct races by realm, each with more information forthcoming at their own dedicated page.
